History

The 4U Foundation Inc. was founded in 1996. It was chartered with the State of Tennessee and registered as a corporation that same year. The organization began as an effort to assist inner city urban school children improve their academic performance at school and raise standardized test scores.

Established in 1996 as a nonprofit tax exempt, publicly supported organization as described in Section 501 © (3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code, the FOUNDATION was engineered to provide a vehicle that would improve the moral, social, and academic climate in our communities by assisting young people in becoming the best that they can be in all their pursuits. The FOUNDATION “Empowers Urban Youth.”

Community members and organizations have began to rally to the aid of the FOUNDATION and it’s efforts. Over the course of the past fifteen years the FOUNDATION has proven to be stable and effective in meeting the needs of the community’s youth.
